Ibelive this is actually a Cornet: 17¾\"long; with the bell decoratively engraved \"MARTINReg. US Pat Office SUPERLATIVE, Elkhart, IND. \"
Thevalves are stamped on the right sides 1, 2, and 6 – with the center(\"2\") also stamped 25000(the serialnumber - I presume this is the first item in the series) and with an \"M\" on its reverse. No otherlettering or number seen.
Ibeleve this is pre-1920, but information is scarce (I looked on theHorn-U-Copiasite).
I don\'t play horn, but everything seem to operate alright; thevalves (mother-of-pearl tops on the buttons) seem to work smoothlyand spring right back. And the other slides seemto work.
BrassMusicholder + 2 mouth-pieces: Vincent Bachs (they look very similar to me)silver 7C and brass 3C.
OldAmerican Standard suitcase style snap case in decent worn antiquecondition.
Theinstrument (weighs 2¼-2½pounds by itself) could use some expert cleaning and polishing buthas only a few minor dents. Sold\"As is\" - butI don\'t think there are any serious issues.
FreeUS shipping: mailing weight with case and shipping carton is about 10pounds
