The old lid is not compressed very much, and still can see some of the original crinkles in the metal on the bottom edge in one place, picture #4. The old lid is embossed on the top with GENUINE BOYD CAP FOR MASON JARS, as seen in pictures. The side of the lid has no lug, can\'t see it ever had one, as seen in picture. The porcelain insert inside the lid has no embossing, as seen in picture, it is not cracked, it does have a mold line which happen in the old molding process.I see no holes in lid. It has 2 shallow indentions in metal on the edges at top, to me not a issue just wanted you to know. A old lid from days gone by, but still has its beauty.
