A mid-1950s F.E. Olds & Sons Ambassador Cornet, serial number201657. Fantastic playing horn, Ambassador valve blocks are notoriously good, and this instrument is not exception. Remarkable valve action. Olds horns are built strong, and the Ambassador line is the \'tank\' of them all. This horn has a few dings, which I tried to highlight in the photos, but it doesn\'t affect it\'s playability in the least. The lacquer finish is not 100 percent, but it\'s better than I would expect from a 60 year old instrument.
Comes in a brand new SKB case that I bought when I purchased the horn. A $55 value, in itself. Also included is a Bach 3C mouthpiece, in very good condition.
I bought this horn about 5 years ago, when I was playing in a community band where a lot of the arrangements included cornet parts. No longer playing there, and the horn has seen little use, so I would like to move it on to someone that will exercise this worthwhile instrument. It\'s a fun horn to play, and I\'m sure you will enjoy it, too!
