Original Movie Prop Disney Maleficent ~ From Princess Aurora Castle Bedroom:
$61.00

Beautiful, Original Movie Prop from Disney’s Maleficent!

~ Princess Aurora’s Castle Bedroom Door Knob ~

Imagine owning a piece of this instantly classic movie. This (oversized movie prop) door knob is already an iconic piece of film history and an instant Disneyana collectible. This door knob is agenuine prop from the (teenage) bedroom film set of Aurora (sleeping beauty) [Maleficent(2014)], it is seen in the feature film with Elle Fanning and Angelina Jolie. This door knob was used in the bedroom scenes with these amazing actresses and it was part of the gorgeous castle bedroom in the film.

This is a genuine (not a copy) Maleficent movie prop from the set of thisfeature film. Its origin is easily recognized and verifiable as a piece of select and original Maleficent movie props that were sold on May 30th 2014 with the help of One King\'s Lane (high end designer home decorating and unique home goods) during ahighly anticipated and highly publicized, special, one time charity sale benefiting The Boys and Girls Club of America.I have provided herein, significant details of the news releases and of the sale itself. I have also provided two news articlesfeaturing the Maleficent charity prop sale that this prop was purchased from aswell.

My wife and I purchased this door knob prop piece directlyfrom the Boys and Girls Club Maleficent movie prop charity sale and we haveall of the original documentation of our purchase from the sale that will be includedwith the door knob prop for the new owner.

*Spoiler Alert*

If you have not seen the movie.... details of this piece and where it is shown and used in the movie set are described below....

This particular piece is a doorknob from Aurora’s castle bedroomwhere King Stefan locks Aurora away for \"safekeeping\" and where she soon \"sleeps\"helplessly while under the curse of Maleficent. Aurora’s bedroom is elaborate and gildedin appearance. It is prominently featured in the film. The main cast members,Maleficent, Aurora, King Stefan (and others) have main scenes in this bedroomas well as they enter and exit this bedroom during the movie.

Door knobs themselves, (from movie sets, significant homes and historic locations) have been long recognized as iconic keepsakes and this particular door knob is likely one that will only increase in value and nostalgia. It is quite a collectible! This movie, its props and its cast are history in the making. This is a beautiful piece of this history.

Aurora’s castle bedroom doors are shown in the film. Thisbeautiful doorknob (from the interior of her bedroom) is specifically seen inthe movie during scenes while Aurora is helplessly cursed and sleeping in the classic \"sleeping beauty\" scene while inthe castle bedroom. In this scene, Knotgrass, Thistlewit and Flittle (thepixies charged with raising Aurora in secret until her 16th birthday) flee herbedroom to assist in helping the cursed Aurora awaken.

There may be otherscenes that the door knobs are featured in as well. Aurora’s bedroom has two doorsand both door knobs can be seen in the movie. This sale is for one ofAurora’s castle bedroom door knobs. Both door knobs were sold during the charity sale. There were no other door knob props sold. I imagine that these pieces were offered due to their potential iconic status and the fact that they are a \"personal item\" in which the people in the film would reasonably have to use them and touch them to pass through the doors of the amazing set of Aurora\'s castle bedroom. Aside from the film and \"personal\" details, this door knob is beautiful, huge and amazing! Quite a conversation piece!

The design and pattern of the doorknob match Aurora’sbedroom furnishings and the patterns seen in her bedroom (photos included). Thedoor knob gilded and ornate pattern is also seen on Aurora’s crib (earlier inthe movie) as well as it is seen featured in ornate detail upon a dressingscreen as well as other pieces from the set.

The doorknob itself of course is a prop, not an actual doorknob that can be purchased at a home warehouse store (etc.). This door knob isa piece of art and it is one of a kind as both of the two door knobs have slightvariations. It is considerably larger than a standard door knob as it was affixedto rather large castle doors. At four inches wide at the base itself and about3 and 3/4 inches tall. It has gold wash paint over it and it shimmers andshines brighter in real life (natural light) than in the photos I haveprovided. The door knob has an opening in the bottom where it appears that abolt screwed into the piece and affixed it to the large castle doors. It is avery large doorknob that is made of fiberglass. Please note that in the charitysale this piece was described as being made of plaster, but in fact it is madeof fiberglass. It is painted to look like a relic, antique or vintage and theage of the gorgeous, elaborate and ancient castle featured in the film.

Above, I have provided pictures from the charity sale in which my wife and I purchased this piece. I alsohave included photos and information and excerpts from both the Yahoo article and thePRNewswire press release detailing the charity sale. You can also Google thesearticles and read them for yourself as of the date of this listing.
