Bought from a doll collector. It came with this info:
\"These particular dolls are from the stock of Herr Insam. In addition to the making of toys the Insams (a family of woodcarvers) undertook the exporting of religious carvings- one of the principal industries of the peasant families in the Dolomites. As they were enterprising businessmen, by 1900 the Insams had a established branches in Nuremberg and had agents in many different countries. It was the First World War which put and end to these activities and of course to the manufacture of toys. However, there remained in the garden of one of the members of the family a large barn full of these dolls collected yeard before ready for dispatch, but which were then unsaleable because of the war.
After the war they were sold to the famous \"Pollock\'s Toy Museum\" in London, who in turn sold them to the \"Williamsburg Paper Parlor\".Doll is 11.75 inches (29.84 cm) tall. Comes with a cloth pattern for clothing. The cloth is precut, though not sewn. You would have to sew it to dress the doll. Each Doll\'s face is unique in character. This doll is clean.
