Polaroid Model 850 Land Camera-RARE Model (Produced 1961-1963):
$75.00

Polaroid Model 850 Land camerawith the \"Abbreviated instructions card\"still attached! (Once the 5 step process was learned by the owner, these cards were typically removed so you don\'tfind them all that often.) It also has the original, complete owners manual with it.

No doubt about it....Polaroids are back with a vengeance. Whether for display as Vintage \"Bellows type\" cameras or\"The Resurgence of Art Deco Style in the 60\'s,\" Polaroids are in great demand. There\'s even a large number of people using certain models for several practical applications (like film emulsions and actual, instant, hard copy prints)since Fuji in Japan took over the production of film after Polaroiddiscontinued that division of it\'s company in 2008/2009. If you\'re taking the time to view this item and read this description you are surely aware of the aboveinfo. What you may NOT be aware of is that there\'s a HUGE market out there quietly but VERY busily bustling along and I wasn\'t really aware of it until I went looking. What I found was, that after many months of viewing, watching, recording pricesand tracking thousands and thousands of old Polaroid\'s on and the Internet in general, that at any given time, just on alone, you will find approximately 18,000 or more items when you search \"Polaroid\" and 7,000 or morewill come up when you put in \"Polaroid Camera.\" Typically, there are on average, 2,100 items that will come up in a search for \"Vintage\" camerasunder Polaroid and while notALL sell at the listed prices, I can assure you, many HUNDREDS change hands on every week. If you spend some time shopping around you\'ll find that almost universally, sellers of these cameras (Thepre-1977 \"I\" specialize in anyway) will all say almost the same thing verbatim: \"I didn\'t test it to see if it\'s working because I don\'t have film or batteries\" or \"Untested. AS-IS.\" You\'ll find plenty of \"I don\'t know anything about cameras but feel free to ask questions\" and similar disclaimers. For the most part, I\'d say 90% or moreare designated as \"No returns\" by the seller so if U get stuck with a lemon, too darn bad for you.Well, that\'s not gonna happen here! Unless otherwise noted as \"For display purposes only,\" ALL the cameras I sell in my store are in perfect working condition and clean too! While many collectors who display these items don\'t care if the item functions, it seems to be popular with many buyers to have one that WOULD work if you wanted it to.

Land Picture Roll Cameras

The first self-developing camera system designed by Dr Edwin H Land was introduced in 1948. This is from a collection of the complete \'first generation\'Polaroid Land cameras using Series 40, Series 30 and Series 20 \'instant\' roll film (picture rolls). The collection is in four distinct categories — original Speedliner models, professional Pathfinders, amateur Highlanders and the Swingers. I purchased two large groups of cameras in private deals not long ago and have a nice stock of Vintage Polaroids with most models (that have bellows) represented plus a smattering of others. One group was the inventory of a retiring camera dealer and the other was a personal collection of an older gentleman. He really liked these cool, older cameras that seem to trigger much nostalgia in those that remember when these cameras were currentduring the 2nd half of the 20th Century. Both sellers were vehement about having cameras that are completely functional so I am guaranteeing that these cameras for sale DO work if that\'s why you are buying it. Full refund including original shipping is offered to back that up.Now, onto the item at hand...... Model 850: Produced: 1961-1963 / Original Retail: $139.95
Estimated Production: 50,000 - (80,000)

Similar to the Model 150 except:

  • Shutter: electrically controlled, 1/12 - 1/600, plus Bulb
  • Automatic programmed exposure by CdS cell; manual control also possible by EV settings.
  • Focus by wheel on edge of bed, shutter release on end of bed.
  • Polished steel body with light tan textured covering.
COLLECTOR\'S NOTE: Significantly less common than the similar Model 900. This model isfairly hard to find and typically at any given time there are7-10 for sale on (at most) although their condition varies greatly and finding one that\'s in working order is a 50-50 proposition.Cameras in nice shape and fully checked-out usually sell on for between $100.00 and $125.00 for this particular model. With all the interest in vintage cameras these days these old \"bellows\" style cameras are very popular for display purposes.

This camera would make agreat addition to a Vintage Camera Collection or for a film hobbyist.

I took this to a major camera retailer and repair center in a nearby town recently that\'s been in biz for over 3 generationsto have it checked out and the manager himself did the inspection. He said all features were working and it\'s in very nice condition too!

The ONLY problem is there appears to be 2 small cracks in the plastic part of the camera housing (see photos) and one of them is inside the flash attachment mount. I believe a previous owner had over-tightened the tiny screw that\'s inside it and that\'s how it cracked. It doesn\'t appear to be from a drop since there is no impact damage to any edge area. The cracked mount allows the flash to wobble slightly if you put one on but if this camera is used for \'display only\' it shouldn\'t be a factor and is just mentioned for complete accuracy. If you\'d like to purchase a Model 250 Wink Light or Model 440 Photo-electric Shutter for this camera check out the accessories I have for sale. I should haveone or 2 of eachin stock.
