You\'re offerding on an interesting primitive-looking sculptural item - 6 3/4\" tall, Base diameter of 2 1/2\" and max width of 3\" - it\'s a figure of a nude woman, holding her arms up and raising a snake - the snake is string attached and there is a hole in her other hand so I assume there once were two snakes. She\'s cast metal, maybe lead or iron. Her form and appearance has a classical sort of look - possibly she\'s in the tradition of the ancient Minoan snake goddess - although believe it or not, this is the second of these I\'ve found, so I\'m fairly certain it\'s not an ancient relic. I\'ve not been able to find another example of this figure in research, though, so it still seems scarce, and it has an antique, patina-ed appearance. She has a horned-headed kind of demonic look - on the back side, flames appear to rise up around her ankles to the bottom of her calves.
