Lucerne tenor saxophone in excellent, almost like new condition. Made by the Dolnet company in Mantes, France, near the Selmer factory, sometime in the 1960\'s. This instrument comes with a sturdy case. The pads look to be the the original kid pads (they have factory lacquer on them -- it was a common practice to spray the finished sax with lacquer after the pads were installed) , and the horn plays well, though you might want to have your tech check it out.These Dolnet Saxophones are a rare and inexpensive alternative to the Mark VI of the same era. Dexter Gordon, Don Byas, Lester Young, and Gene Ammons, among many other pros played these horns due to their rich, fat, & complex sound.The lacquer is the original factory lacquer and is in near perfect condition. Please note the large bleeder near a post on the stack. This horn has never been played, and was purchased as new old stock from a music store. The engraving is sharp as a tack!
