This is a Puritan rug hooking frame made by the Mayflower Textile Co. in Franklin, MA. The grippers are in good condition - not crushed or bent. You can hook with it on your lap or on a table. It is not heavy to carry and can easily keep your hooking linen taunt by turning the handles downward. The left gripper and the bottom gripper are fixed and the handles are the means of turning the top gripper and right gripper tight. You must never never NEVER turn them the opposite direction......always turn them to the right or downward. .I\'m pretty sure the company still tells you that also.
