This is the latest radio to come from Baofeng and they have upped the bar on ham radio technology. Compared to earlier Baofeng products such as UV-5R and the UV-B series this radio comes with a 1 watt speaker which is much louder. It has a more solid design and a better built antenna. The radio can be programmed with or without a PC to work on a private repeater system.
