This is arare doll that I have owned for 18 years.Sadly, moving and will not have room for all of my wonderful dolls.

This listingis for 34” Penny by Madame Alexander.She was made in 1951 ONLY and was designed by Harry Haenigsen from a comic strip about ateenager. Cloth bodywith stuffed vinyl, long slender girl-style limbs, flexible fingers areseparated and slender.

Penny has asweet face with painted features … dark blue eyes, closed mouth and high cheekcolor. Her original hair has beenreplaced. Her cloth body has somestaining and the top of her body has been repaired some time in her past. Vinyl arms and legs are clean. Dolls become antiques when they reach 75years old … this one is well on her way and still “lookin good”! Penny was listed in the 1998 Alexander PriceGuide #23, Page 64 – Value at that time was $500. Up.

Penny iswearing a red/white/blue sailor dress, and matching loafers. She is also wearing long white slip, whitepanties that were made to fit her big bottom, white socks and a white sailorhat. On her wrist is a vintage wristwatch. Everything in good condition. (My last picture is how I had her displayed.)
