This darling very rare antique Kathe Kruse Series 1 German cloth doll is a true treasure. She is made between 1910-1927. The early Kathe Kruse dolls had clothbodiesand oil painted faces. She is the earliest with the wide hips andseparatedthumbs. She is all cloth with jointed shoulders, wide hips, painted eyes and hair. She is in very goodconditionand just has some age stains on areas of the body (as seen in the photos provided). She has beautiful facial paint, which you so seldom see on these antique dolls. Her clothing is quite possiblyoriginalas I did some research after acquiring her andfound these dresses with the same stitchingin Kathe Kruse referencebooks. I am not theoriginalowner so I can not say for sure though. Her shoes are also vintage oil cloth, not sure if they areoriginal. I do know her shoes are old and from the era the doll was made. She even comes with panty bloomers and under slip. She also has identifying Kruse stamp on the bottom of her foot. She measures 17 inches tall. She is for the serious antique doll collector. If you have beensearching for that extra special doll to add to your collection than this would be the doll for you. She is from a non smoking home.
