Rare Antique Southern Biscuit Dough Board Cabinet Cupboard w Cylinder Roll C1910
A highly sought after but rare to find is the Antique Biscuit Dough Board Cabinet Cupboard that usually is from the south, primarily from Kentucky and Tennessee!
This is from the 1910 era and the wood is Ash.
There are three drawers on the top with round nail construction.
These drawers would hold your biscuit cutters and dry seasonings.
A unique cylinder roll up bin door with pullout dough biscuit board to construct your flour or sourdough biscuits on!
The dough is put inside the rollup door under the pull out dough board which is also the lid for the dough bin. The dough rises inside here.
As one opens the doors, one views a middle shelf that is only four inches deep and this is where you stored your rolling pins! It has original hardware and at one time in its life it has been refinished.
Rarely does one ever see these early antique dough biscuit board cabinet cupboards on the retail market today! These were a necessary utilitarian purpose piece of kitchen furniture that was used day in and day out and not many survived into this century! This utilitarian pieces of kitchen furniture was a combination of a baker’s cupboard – lidded dough riser and wall cupboard that is an all in one configuration!
A must have for anyone’s kitchen cabinet cupboard décor!
