Wonderful and rare Black policeman hand puppet, appearing to be made of rubber, portraying a character from Mr Rogers, called I believe Officer Clemmons, who, in real life, was actually named Pierre Clemmons! The handsome, dark blue uniformed and yellow badged and buttoned puppet, without a hand in it measures to be about 10\" tall x about 5 1/4\" wide x about 3\" deep. The piece is marked on the back as being copyrighted in 1968 by Childcraft. I believe Childcraft was a part of Marx Ideal, though I see no such marking on the piece. This is being sold only as an adult collectible and is not appropriate for children, since it has not been safety tested for them.
The puppet is modeled so well and has incredible detail, for example check out the fantastic face, hands, as well as the fingernails of the character\'s left hand. The Police Officer hand puppet is in very good vintage condition! It does have age expected minor wear and tear including rubbing, some color loss, discoloration spots, and scratches. The noted minor wear is welcomed by me as I believe it helps to validate that this is a genuine piece and not a later reproduction.
