This is a rare and wonderful piece of original University ofNorth Dakota School of Mines pottery from 1929 and is a great example of earlyAmerican Art Pottery. This small cabinet vase has a beautiful dusty rose matteglaze finish and featured the signature UND design of the North Dakota PrairieRose. This vase was designed and signed by Julia Mattson who joined theCeramics Department at the UND School of Mines in 1924 and was a criticallyacclaimed and honored artist.
