RARE US USMC WW1 HELMET ATTRI TO 3RD BATT 6TH MARINE 2ND DIV.: $425.00
Offered for sale is a fresh flea market find of a WW1 US USMC Dough Boy helmet. Vendor reports helmet was obtained from the great granddaughter of the soldier last name of Jones who apparently served in the 2nd Div 3rd Batt of the 6th Marines Regt. There are initials on the chinstrap of A J. I was told this man did not serve very long being wounded on June 8th while attacking the Germans in Belleau Wood I believe in 1918 and was sent home. The helmet is in good condition complete with liner and chinstrap. Strap is delicate and needs to be handles with cae but is all there. Helmet shows mild use with no severe damage other than wear time marks etc.. I understand these helmets are quite rare and seldom offered for sale due to the limited number out there. If you have any questions just ask. I a have taken many pics but should you need more please ask. Buy now or your best offer. helmet is sold as seen and as is so please ask all questions before making offer and or purchase.NOTE: THIS IS NOT A POST WAR PUT TOGETHER LIKE I SEE OUT THERE.... Thank you for looking.
