RARE WWII U.S. NAVY GM 12-567ATLS LST Diesel Engine Brass Data Tag SERIAL No. 1!
Offered here for sale is a FABULOUS piece of WWII U.S. Military history - the brass Data Tag (or ID Plate) from the VERY FIRST General Motors Model 12-567ATLS 12 Cylinder LST (Landing Ship, Tank) Starboard Diesel Engine - Serial No. 1!
This plaque (or the engine to which it was attached) was produced by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors on 7-11-42, andpresumablyrepresents the very first starboard engine of its type to roll off of the production line and be delivered to the U.S. Navy in 1942.

CONDITION: The plate is in excellent, original, as-found patinated condition, with no damage or loss - it is a superb specimen.
