Beautiful condition Realistic DX 440 portable. Rich black cabinet, perfect lettering, and clear plastic . I used it in my shack this week and was very pleased with the coverage and versatility of this radio. I had it outside and did some am and SW dx\'ing. With a full 55 inches on the attached whip antenna, I had no problems hearing Shortwave International Broadcasts from around the world on all the bands, daytime through nightime, and through the night on the appropriate bands. I love that a portable radio has the following features: BFO to listen to hams on sideband, RF gain to tone down powerful signals, narrow and wide bandwith (great for AM DX, Balance, Bass, Treble. Signal Strength meter. This is a four band radio with coverage from150 khz to 29999 khz. Has a dial light, and a timer with sleep timer. I feel this radio is the next best thing to a desktop receiver at a modest comparable price. You can take it anywhere. Original carry strap included.
TheRadio Shack DX-440, also known as the Sangean ATX-803A is a moderately-sized, battery-powered, portable shortwave and commercial FM receiver. It was manufactured by Sangean . It is about the size of a hardcover book, and weighs close to six pounds when batteries are installed.
ForFM, audio can be listened to in stereo if headphones are used. Tuning is digital, with a large LCD display. Tuning is done using either a tuning knob, or by direct entry via a numeric keypad, or by \"UP\" and \"DOWN\" buttons. There are also nine frequency memories.
Power is supplied by nine D-cell batteries; tuning memories are retained by two AA-cells. An external nine-volt DC power supply not included but readily available at electronic stores and Walmart\'s) can also be used. The DX-440 comes equipped with a ferrite coil antenna for lower-frequency reception, such as commercialAM, and a whip antenna for higher frequencies. A jack is also present to allow the attachment of an external antenna. A clip on 10 ft indoor outdoor wire antenna is included for enhanced reception. Lay it out in your room, out the window, on the picnic table etc... Raised WWV on 15000 from S-Meter 1, to S-Meter 5.

Just 17.99 extra if you would like the pkg but with a 20 ft clip on antenna for indoor in a room or hang out a window, instead of the longwire.
