Up for sale is a professionally rebuilt pair of datematched Small Block Chevy 2.02 cylinder heads. Casting number is 3973370. The headsare dated H219 & H299 (August 21, 1969 & August 29, 1969). The heads have 64cc combustion chambers withnew 2.02 stainless intake and new 1.60 stainless exhaust valves. The 370 is oneof the best closed chamber cylinder heads of the late 60’s early 70’s. The 370heads are very rare as they are the sister heads to the #186 & # 492 & someof the last closed chamber heads with accessory holes on the ends. These headswere factory installed on high performance Canadian vehicles and were over-the-counterreplacement heads in the USA for the 186 & 492 heads. Heads have been hottanked, shot blasted, and magnafluxed. These heads have been completely rebuiltwith 8 new hardened exhaust seats for unleaded fuel, 16 new thick wall brass valveguides, a 3 angle valve job, 8 new stainless intake valves, 8 new stainlessexhaust valves, & 16 new performance chrome silicon valve springs good forup to .550” valve lift (closed pressure is 110# at 1.800”, open pressure is325# at 1.200”). The heads have also been resurfaced .009” for a perfect headgasket seal. These heads are also machined for screw in studs with guide plates(not included in sale). Heads are then thoroughly washed and fully assembledwith 16 new premium umbrella valve stem seals and 32 new heavy-duty keepers. Allvalves and valve seats have been checked for a perfect compression seal. Thereis no porting or polishing on any intake port, exhaust port, or any combustionchamber. One head has a Heli-Coil repair to fix a bad spark plug hole. Allthreaded bolt holes are good. One head has some rust pitting on the intake gasketside. The rust pits are outside of the intake gasket sealing surface. They arecosmetic only and will not affect the sealing of the intake manifold. There arealso some minor rust pits on the exhaust gasket flange area on both heads. Theheads come as pictured and are ready to install. The heads pictured are theactual heads you are offerding on and will receive. The #370 and double humpheads was factory installed on High Performance Canadian vehicles and were over-the-counterreplacement heads for USA Chevrolet vehicles including Corvette, Camaro RS SS& Z-28, Chevelle Malibu, Chevy II Nova, Bel Air, & Impala. These headswill also interchange with other camel hump heads with casting numbers 461,461X, 462, 291, 292, 186, 041, 041X & 492. These heads will fit all 265,283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, & 400 small block Chevy engines from 1955 to1986 with no modifications (steam holes will need to be drilled for a 400) and1987-1999 with correct intake manifold (except 1992 & up LT-1 reverseflow).
