Recaptured Vietnam era SOG fighting knife, water carrying yoke and engraved brass box. This lot was purchased from a Vet. who brought it back from Vietnam in 1970. The knife is listed in M.W. Silvey\'s book on \"KNIVES OF THE UNITED STATES MILITARY IN VIETNAM\". The unmarked knife came with a six inch blackened blade some of which were marked \"Japan Sword\". The knife has a brass butt, leather handle with white spacer and brass guard and a 6 inch blade. The handle and blade are nice and tight. The hand made sheath is made of wire wrapped wood with a aluminum belt loop. Overall the knife is in good condition with surface rust on the blade. See the pictures for condition. The water carrying yoke is made of wood with rattan hangers. The brass box is decorated with engraving and has a vine cordage belt with brass buttons. I have no idea of what the box is for but it came with the lot. The Vet said he picked the lot up in some village during a patrol and didn\'t know what the knife was.
