You\'re offerding on a Remington Rand \"Model 5 Deluxe\" portable typewriter - serial number B1172175 - dates it to November 1941, so right in the middle of the first phase of production, before manufacturing went on hiatus due to WWII. Typewriter is in very good, original unrestored condition - Nice textured matte sort of greyish-black finish, and clean black keys with white text font - minimal if any scratch wear to the finish, and all of the branding and decals are in good, appealing condition, although note some minor scratch to the branding label on the back (which is right above the slot for rear mounting it into the case). All the keys work with powerful strike, the return carriage bell is a little bit faint but does work, and as a whole everything still seems to function perfectly - the ribbon is kinda dry but still has some juice left for fooling around.Rubber or composite feet are still attached and in good condition. There is some dust and grease in the works that you might want to have professionally cleaned if you really intend on banging out the great American novel on this machine, but is seems as if it would function fine for casual use as-is. Note that there are no manuals or attachments present.
Complete including the case - although note that there is no key for the lock - case has a little bit of scuff wear, but better than typical and still presentable. Overall a great piece as is, or could probably be serviced into a top-of-the line example.
