Rolls Royce T63 700 / Allison 250 C18 Gas Turbine excellent condition complete :
$5100.00

You are offerding for a perfectly running Rolls RoyceT63 - 700 / Allison C18 gas turbine in excellent working condition with allaccessories including starter-gen, tach-sensors, all temp sensors, ignitionbox etc. removed from German BoelkowBo-105 Military helicopter. I obtained this engine as part of a package dealwith the German army whereas I purchased one C18 and one C30. The unit has verylow running time.

With only 819 hours since factory overhaul at theGerman branch of Allison, MTU, the C18 was the best of the two units whenpurchased 2 1/2 years ago. I initially intended to use both turbines, however, rightnow only the C30 fits exactly into my project. Since its purchase this C18 hasdone nothing apart from being once test run, soaked with 3 bottles of WD-50 andstored. 317hp at about 6,000 rpm output shaft speed make it perfect for manyprojects due to its reduction gearbox, light weight 158lbs and compact size. You will have a hard time to find a better one. It is ready to fit, add fuel, oil,starter-gen solenoid, batteries and start up.

The engine utilizes a reverse-flow design. Air enters theintake/compression system in the conventional fashion, the compressed airleaving the centrifugal compressor diffuser is ducted rearwards around theturbine system, before being turned through 180 degrees at entry to thecombustor; the combustion products expand through the 2-stage HP turbine, whichis connected, via the HP shaft, to the compression system, before expandingthrough the 2-stage power turbine; the exhaust gases then turn though 90degrees to exit the engine in a radial direction; a stub shaft connects thepower turbine to a compact reduction gearbox, located inboard, between thecentrifugal compressor and the exhaust/power turbine system.

The Helicopter was operated and maintained by theGerman government and one of the last units in active service. The C18 powerplantswere removed on Dec. 21th 2016 due to the final retirement of the lastBo 105 helicopters, which are followed by the NH90 helicopter. Curiously, subjectof the last retirements were the oldest aircraft, since these were still used usedfor liaison missions.

The hot section looks, due to the low hours, almostlike a virgin, and upon purchasing this motor I was allowed to take a look intothe logbook, which showed the previously mentioned hours. Unfortunately I had toleave the logbooks with the Army officer in charge of this issue and was notallowed to make any copies. According to the officer civilians are not allowedto know where the engine, thus the helicopter, carried out missions. Besides, Idon´t think, that German Military logbooks are of any interest for a potentialbuyer.

I have fired up this unit while it was still in the Armytest-cradle, and it runs perfectly. It will be delivered ready to run completewith starter-generator, fuel controller, and ignition box as can be seen in theoffer. I have done my best to do the photographs and even managed to borrow themaintenance officer´s endoscope and make some pictures of the very enginesection, that shows abuse and wear first and most evidently. These are thestator vanes in the burner can. As you can see, there is absolutely zeroerosion on the vanes.

The turbine is presently still in Germany in myparent´s house, crated and ready to ship. I am back in FL and presently makingarrangements for shipment to the US. Moving the turbine stateside comes down toapprox. $ 900 plus insurance, which is payable by the high buyer. Please viewmy response for your peace of mind regarding correct representation of itemsand international transactions.

Experimental guys, don´t waste any more thoughts aboutgetting a run out and beaten to death unit from some junkyard in the US or evenSouth America, where they use pipewrenches to repair and maintain theirequipment. It costs a fortune to get all peripheral accessories, and by thetime you get it properly running, if at all, your wallet will be at least$35,000 to $40,000 lighter.

This engine here has been properly maintained toMilitary Standards by factory trained, government employed technicians, and ifanything was just remotely suspicious of going bad, it was replaced, becausethis is, what these people get paid for.

Since this “chase the reserve” game appears to be completelystupid to me, there simply is none. The market will regulate the price. Becauseof lack of interest and time to administer the questions concerning the listingI am open to buy-it-now offers. However, I know, what good units normally gofor when they are complete and ready to run, so please diligently consider youroffer before placing it. Please note also, that I reserve the right to closethis sale early, since I´m offering this turbine on a different platform aswell. The buyer agrees, that he accepts to buy the unit asis without any written, implied or expressed warranties.

The high buyer pays for insurance, packaging andshipping from Germany. Paypal is definitely not my favourite way of payment, so alternatives like transfer into my account orcash upon pickup if the buyer wishes to make the purchase face to faceshould be discussed via phone or email. Please note, that the high buyer agrees to make a$3000 down payment within 48 hours after the sale has ended.
