This artifact has been recently unearthed in the lower portion of South Carolina in an area which has seen repeated battles and warfare since the Colonial period and through the entirety of the Civil War. I know nothing of swords or blades so please consult the pictures and email any questions. Blade is about 31\" not counting handle which appears to be carved wood with finger ridges for grip. It is very slightly curved and not straight, has a heavy patena of rust and not cleaned other than rinsing with the hose. There are some undulations of blade towards the tip and they do not appear recent as the rust is undisturbed.
