Kasparov RISC 2500 by Saitek
Description
This chess computer is rare and powerful enough to be considered a legend. The silver plastic casing with red and black tones is sleek and attractive, and the internal program is renowned for its aggressive, human-style play.
(Please note: I sold another RISC 2500 a few months ago. This isn\'t that one returned or unsold, but a different unit altogether.)
I\'m no chess expert, but as far as I can tell this machine is in perfect working order. All the pressure-sensitive squares are properly responsive. When I play against it, it takes my position apart like I\'m a small child, which is a little depressing. The LCD screen has no issues (sorry about the quality of my photos) -- it\'s sharp and clean without dead pixels or liquid crystal leakage, and the brightness slider works properly.
Physically, it\'s in great shape. There\'s very minor scuffs and dings visible upon close examination, but no significant wear.
It includes a brand new set of Saitek magnetic chessmen, still sealed in their original bags -- reflective silver and flat black. An aftermarket 5V, 2.4A power supply is also included; it\'s rated for a 5.6v power supply, but it works just fine with this one. Box and manual are not included. The internal battery seems to be working fine; you can unplug it, plug it back in, and it remembers the previously saved game.
This is the 128k RAM version, which is to say the stock version without a RAM upgrade. ROM is also 128K. It\'s running v1.04 firmware.
Its ELO rating is 2500 according to Saitek, between 2192 and 2316 according to the wiki at schach-computer.info.Features include an opening library of over 100,000 moves, hint/teach mode, unlimited takebacks, save game functionality, mate/solve mode 15 moves deep, and an intuitive screen-driven menu system for settings and functions.
About My Shop
You\'re looking at an independent, one-person operation. That\'s why I can take my time testing items andfixing them up. It\'s how I make sure you get what you need. I\'m an oldschool seller with fourteen years of experience, and I stand behind my listings.
Most of my items are secondhand finds. I rescue artifacts from the wild and pair them with people who\'ll love and take care of them. If you\'re searching for something you don\'t see here, let me know. I have a ton of sources.
How To Pay
I accept payments through Paypal, including credit card payments. If you live in or around Toronto, I can also accept cash and make deliveries in person. If youhave questions aboutalternative payment arrangements, feel free to message me. Shipping
The shipping quotes listed are economy and middle-range shipping options. If you\'re interested in priority courier services, ask me for a custom quote.
I ship everywhere. If \'s shipping calculator doesn\'t show a shipping rate for your country, message me and I\'ll get you one.
I pack very securely in thick cardboard containers, custom-built for each item. Anything even slightlydelicate will be secured with shock-absorbent foam. If I\'m shipping something that breaks easily, like glassware ora boombox, I\'ll double-box it with two ridiculously thick layers of padding.
Insurance and Tracking
All shipping rates within Canada include full insurance and tracking. Outside Canada, all my shipping rates except Small Packet include full insurance and tracking. Small Packet is the cheapest economy rate - it lacks insurance and tracking options. Please keep this in mind. Returns
I\'ll cheerfully accept returns if I made a significant mistake in the item description.Otherwise, message me and we can discuss it.If you have any problem with your purchased item, please bring it up with me rather than posting negative or neutral response. Making you satisfied is the most important thing for me.
