Thank you and Happy Holiday Season to All nice and seldom encountered WW I example of the Russian Chief regiment of Czar Nikolai II German officer\'s sword, wearing a slender quill back blade in overall bright steel finish with a lovely blued and gold gilt panel on one side featuring the regimental inscription with a royal cipher of crowned ERh on one end and crossed cavalry sabers with an oak and cherry branched wreath under a plumed pickelhaube helmet on the other end, exhibiting light wear but remaining in lovely state of preservation overall. The other side with an etched ribboned motto, the tip of the blade is slightly worn otherwise the blade is in lovely condition. Iron hilt mounts with a folding clam shell depicting a lovely Bavarian lion in open work, nicely chiseled back strap and detailed lion head pommel with traces of gilt finish, lacqueredblack grip retaining all of its original twist and braid wire. Overall solid and intact, clamshell opens and folds firmly and with a snap, comes with its original steel scabbard showing expected average wear to the black paint finish.
