a very rare SS Stewart banjeaurine, circa 1898.
This size instrument is designed to be tuned higher than a normal banjo(although it can be tuned to standard G,just use heavier strings) with a shorter scale length (54 cm)and smaller 25.5 cm head
The entire instrument measures just 74 cm long,making it a perfect travel banjo(able to be carried onboard planes)
There is a small amount of fingerboard wear on the second fret, but nothing serious,more cosmetic than anything.
Sounds as good as a regular banjo,but with much more versatility.
In excellent condition,with a custom made hardshell case.
