NON-WORKING - TASCAM TSR-8 8-TRACK Analog Reel-to-Reel Recorder/Re-Producer. Unit was previously purchased from (what turned out to be) a disreputable dealer who misrepresented the condition of his tape deck when he sold it to me (that\'s what I get for trusting documentary movie directors who advertise on a well-known, internet-based,used item advertising board). The unit has two known problems....(1) Thetake-up motor either needs servicing or replacement - the unit runs slow; and (2) If I recall correctly, I could not get the meters to \"flop\" when sending input in record mode (meaning, it won\'t receive or recordaudio - it could be a bad main-preamp, or something wrong with the record function itself). Otherwise (really?) everything else seems to be fine and the heads are really good shape (I\'d estimate 5-600 hours use, tops). I would prefer local pick up if you are in MD/DC/VA region. But I am willing to ship if necessary (I am posting ashippingestimate of $75 max, but the cost may be lower depending on where I ship to). I can not demonstrate theunit if you decide on local pick-up, except to plug it in and see if it powers up. Lastly, USA and Canadian Buyers ONLY, please. Thanks!
