UNIQUE - Vintage, Antique 1-of-a-Kind \"S-FRAME\" Bicycle - Fully Restored :
$7500.00

I have owned this for a long, long time. And being in my mid 70\'s it\'s time to let it move on to a new owner. Back when I acquired it, the bicycle was red - painted with a spray can. It looked pretty bad. But even then it got a lot of attention. I took it to Cyclart in Vista, California and it underwent a complete (and very expensive) restoration. It was completely disassembled, sand blasted, and then given a very high class paint job. And that pin striping - that isn\'t tape. All the pin stripes you see were done by hand on both the frame and the wheels by a very talented artist. Every part of this bike is unique. The frame speaks for itself. The bracket that holds the seat post to the frame is a sand casting. The seat itself is a work of art. The bracket that locates the pedal/sprocket assembly is hand hammered out of two thick pieces of steel. The rear coaster brake assembly made by Eclipse appears to be a one-of-a-kind. And the suspension? Both the front wheel and the rear wheel are supported on ONE SIDE ONLY. My theory on this is that by being set up this way it would be very easy to repair/replace a flat tire since the wheel would not need to be removed from the bike. And flat tires were very common back in the early 1900\'s. The mechanical bicycle Oooga-Horn on the handlebar is an original and works perfectly. I have a very thick folder containing details from years of research which I did during the time I have owned this bicycle and it will make for some interesting reading for the new owner. I have ridden this bicycle several times and it is a delight to ride as long as you don\'t mind being asked endless questions about it. Needless to say, I was very careful when I rode it and it was never subjected to any stress or strain. And a very good question to consider - Where would you ever find another bicycle that looks like this one??? I have several more photos which contain a LOT of information. Please ask. I might add that although I have had this for a long time, it still looks absolutely perfect. No dents, dings or scratches. And the tires also look like new. This was displayed a few times at the San Diego Balboa Park Auto Museum when they would do a special on motorcycles and bicycles. It was the first thing you saw as you entered the museum. This is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this listing at any time. My preference would be to have someone pick this bicycle up and I am willing to store it for as long as necessary. If shipping is necessary, then we can work out the details. ***And you can forget that ridiculous shipping cost of $6.70 that this website added to my listing***. A new photo has been added showing the rear brake set up. See photo number 8. Just added a photo (number 12), which shows how the chain is adjusted. There are grooves cut into the end of the frame and corresponding grooves cut on the inside of the gold painted parts. To adjust, loosen the large chrome nut, and you can then slide the rear wheel forward or back to adjust the chain tension. Never seen this on any other bicycle.
