Up for your consideration is this unique vintage VHF FM receiver module by Repco.  It is a self contained receiver which requires only a 12 VDC power source, an external antenna, and an external speaker.  It receives (as configured) a single channel which is currently 146.190 Mhz. This frequency was changed from the original channel frequency of 154.000 Mhz.  A note was left with this receiver indicating the new frequency setting and that the sensitivity of the receiver is 2 mv.  The frequency was validated but no attempt was made to validate the sensitivity claimed.

This set is being sold as an “experimenter’s special”.  By providing power, antenna and speaker, the buyer will be able to use the receiver “as is” but if it is desired to change the frequency received, buyer will have to figure out how that can be accomplished without the benefit of a manual.  The wires for power, antenna, and speaker are tagged for identification.  Please note that the receiver is modularized.  Various sections of the receiver are built in a module which plugs into the “mother” board.  See the pictures.

There is a video available of this receiver working here: http://youtu.be/0MWtD6kCryM .  If the link doesn’t work, please copy the URL into your browser.   Apologies for the lousy audio.  You’ll  get the picture and message (puns intended) after a few views.  Basically the set up was this:  a MFJ Antenna Analyzer’s signal generator was used as a signal source.  As the MFJ is tuned through 146.190 while loosely coupled to the receiver’s antenna input, you will hear the signal in the speaker (a Heathkit SP-600 is used).  Once the MFJ is tuned to the max signal level as heard from the speaker, the frequency display shows 146.188.  Close enough for the purposes of demonstrating that the receiver is working.  The squelch is also demonstrated in the video.

The physical condition of this item is quite good.  No observed defects.

Payment

Payment must be received within FIVE days or a non-paying buyer complaint will be filed.  Any unique charges, if applicable, will be noted.     Shipment will typically occur within two (2) business days of receipt of a PayPal instant payment other bank cleared payment. If buyer needs to arrange for any other form of payment, buyer must contact seller for approval 48 hours prior to offer close.

Local Sale

Some items are concurrently offered for sale locally.  If a local sale is completed prior to the end of this sale, seller reserves the right to cancel the sale regardless of whether there are offers or not.

Return Policy

Most items are vintage electronic components or vintage electronic devices.  Even with excellent packing, these vintage items may be exposed to severe vibration or shock during transit which may cause a connection to separate or component to break.  Consequently, unless otherwise stated, all items are sold “AS – IS”.  No Warranty or right of return is expressed or implied.  In the case of an item described as “used” and fully operational, seller will provide installation and troubleshooting assistance if contacted prior to unit being turned on.  This “call before turn on” requirement avoids many set up mistakes that might cause a component to fail prematurely.

Insurance/Loss/Damage Claim Policy

Certain “High Dollar” and / or breakable items may be insured.  Charges will include insurance only when specifically noted.  Seller will assist buyers if shipment is lost and on damage claims.
