Unusually Fine - nach Meyer 11-key antique wooden flute DEMO included

This flute is an excellent example of a high-quality Nach Meyer flute. It is labeled Nach / H.F. Meyer / Hannover. It has the complete 11-key system playing down to low B. This flute seems to be in very good, original condition. I assume it was re-padded at some pointbecauseit works very well. The pads are not“new”looking but are very solid and seal well, I suppose they could be original. I can see no cracks or repairs, including the head joint and barrel which are cracked on at least 90% of the nach Meyer flutes. It has an excellent embouchure hole that really looks like a true Meyer and a fancier than normal endcap and tuning mechanism. The wood is very nice - I assume Ebony - quite dense with no checking or other signs in instability.

Frankly, I was surprised when I got this flute, as part of a group offlutes I purchased, as to how good a flute this is and how well it works in its current, seemingly original, state. It has an original case with hinge still intact and has the original tenon caps. As you can see from the photos it also includes extra pads in the little compartment made for storing pads. These look to be unused, original pads? - that in itself is a rare and valuable thing to find.

The flute plays well at A=440 and can be used for either Classical playing or would make a great Irish-type flute. It has a big sound with excellent focus. Please listen to the short DEMO I have included. This flute does not have the fluffy, unfocused sound found on many Nach Meyer flutes - it is a real musical instrument! The tuning slide currently does not move but works perfectly at A=440.
