US 69 caliber musket bayonet.  Civil War period production with rounded shoulders, similar to the .58 caliber bayonet, but much bigger socket diameter.  Will mount on any M1835 or M1842 musket unless there is a build up of patina or rust on the muzzle.  Mounts fine on M1842 musket. Much better than average condition, retaining a good deal of the original bright polish.  Has a little minor light spotting and a small spot of possible pitting on the elbow, but all around a tough to find bayonet in this fine condition.
