A fairly scarce bayonet for the US Navy Model of 1870 Remington rolling block rifle made by the Ames Sword Company of Chicoppee Falls, Mass ; It bears the USN Ordnance crossed cannons and anchor scutcheon on the handle , \"Ames Mfg Co Chicoppee Mass.\" on obverse of ricasso, and \"USN G.G.S (G.G.Saunders a civilian inspector for the Navy) 1870\" on its reverse.; Very good overall condition, could be cleaned much more, if desired; No scabbard; response left at the conclusion of a,hopefully,mutually satisfactory transaction.
