I am very pleased to present for sale this Unique VictorianWalnut Writing Cabinet Desk with Dated Hardware of 1866 and working lock with the key. This is a fabulous Victorian piece that still has its original brass hardware and original tooled leather writing surface on the inside of the desk and the original ink bottles are intact as well.

This fine writing cabinet measures a total height to the top if the carved gallery (there are two areas of the carved gallery where a piece is missing) at the back of 47 1/4 inches, height to the front of this piece is 43 3/4 inches, width measures 28 1/4 inches and depth of 11 3/4 inches and this weighs approximately 55 lbs. The fall front writing surface reveals the inside desk area with the beautiful tooled leather and the ink bottles at the back on each side of the slotted pen rest, and above are several cubbies or pigeon holes for storage of desk necessities. The writing surface measures (leather portion) 20 1/2 inches wide by 10 3/4 inches deep and height from the floor measures 29 1/4 inches. Below the desk area is a wonderful storage drawer that offers period hand cut dove-tailed ends and below the drawer is a nice display shelf flanked with turned spindles. The base offers a wonderfultambour door that whenyou lift it up you see a fine storage area.
