This is an unissued item. This combination tools first job is a handle for your 30 caliber cleaning rod sections. The rod piece you see in the collapses sideways into the handle so that it will fit into your butt stock. The handle is hollow so that you can fit your little grease pots within it. This combination tool also preforms the task of removing your gas plug nut, so your gas piston may be removed/replaced. Another role of the combination tool is as an aid to disassemble the bolt assembly using the little tit next to the gas piston nut wrench.The combination tools final roll is as a loading assist by using the convex recess on the wider side of the tool to depress cartridges into place during times when normal loading procedures do not work. The finish is parkerizing. This was found in an estate sale.
