The first thing to know when you’re shopping for thismachine is that the Singer Featherweight sewing machine does not actually SAY“Featherweight” anywhere on the machine. It may say Model 221 (earliestU.S. made machines). Research shows this machine AL944660 was made on January 17, 1955.
