Description: Label reads: \"part of the art of eve....Catalina - 12 (Inside an apple the 12 is the gament size). On a small lable attached to the Catalina label, in very small light ink, reads WPL 2675 (the 5 may be wrong)(see note below). Top has a bra and the bottom pants have a liner. Material may be Rayon or100% polyamide (Nylon), and there is no wool although it has a WPL number. All stitching is good. A black strap on one side has pulled out of the suit (third to last picture) and the picture is the last one. There are a couple of very small light stains that are not noticable and only visible upon close inspection on a white flower (see second to last picture). There is a small tear in the front smaller than a dime (see last picture). (Item #0088)

Note -- WPL stands for Wool Products Labeling. Unfortunately, the number is not of much use in this case. All WPL numbers were distributed before 1959, but the date is not when the garment was made. It merely means that the garment was made after Catalina got their number, which was sometime in the 1950s. There is a database where you can look up the numbers, but it is not useful in dating. It will help with the manufacturer’s identification in cases where you have the number but not a maker’s label. -thevintagetraveler
