HARMONY DATABASE;
H1215 - Archtone
Acoustic archtop - Sunburst
Production year(s) : 1944-1971(other years possible, not verified)
One of the most popular archtop models. All birch construction (solid woods). Top grained to resemblespruce, faux-flame on sides and back. Double faux-bindings lines on body edge, then triple line from about 1958. New model number H6415 in 1972. H1213 and H1214 are similar with different finishes.
THIS ARCHTOP HAS A VERY SOLID BODY AND NECK, I REPLACED THE TUNERS AND STRINGS, IT HAS A CRACK ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BACK (SEE PHOTOS) THAT I GLUED TO KEEP FROM SPREADING. IT HAS SEVERAL PLACES THAT THE FAUX-BINDING LINES PAINT ARE CHIPPING(MOST OF THESE OLD ARCHTOPS I HAVE SEEN ARE THIS WAY). THE WOOD AND JOINTS ARE GOOD AND SOUNDS RICH!
NOW INCLUDES A FIBERBOARD CASE!
UNABLE TO READ THE SERIAL # TO GET THE YEAR, MODEL NUMBER IS HARD TO READ. STILL A GREAT BUY FOR THE COLLECTOR!
