Vintage Hitachi AM/FM Stereo Cassette Turntable SDT-9310H Pacific Ambiophonic 80:
$19.99

Selling as-is. Please read the sale details.
Up for sale is one (1) vintage (approximately 1980) Hitachi SDT-9320H stereo unit. Front of the unit reads, \"Ambiophonic System,\" and \"PLL Multiplex Circuit.\"
Overall this is a great old-school \'80s look that you just can\'t find today!
This quote is from the 1980 \"Pacific Stereo\" ad: “If the thought ofpatching together stereo components makes you squirm, then our HitachiSDT-9320H compact system is for you. Just connect the speakers and plug it intothe wall and you\'re ready to enjoy radio, records, and cassette tapes, too.It\'s easy! And moving your system is a snap because everything but the speakersis all in one unit.” (Note: Pacific Stereo ad is not included, just here as verification of this unit\'s age.)
Exterior - this unit has silver-colored plating and faux wood. Overall in very good condition, with only a few areas of minor wear, but no major gouges or bent metal or chipped wood. (See photos for close-ups.)
Power cord - has a two-prong power cord in very good condition. Unit has been plugged in and lights come on in the front.
Signal - has a plastic-encased orange plastic needle and the numbers 0-5 behind it, to indicate signal strength.
Jacks - the front of the unit has three (3) jacks, one for headphones and two for left-and-right microphones. Four speaker jacks are on the back (Front R/L and Rear R/L), along with IN/OUT jacks.
Counter - has a black-with-white-numbers tape counter on the front and a black reset button.
Knobs and switches - TUNING, BASS, TREBLE, BALANCE, VOLUME, FUNCTION. The FUNCTION button includes selections for AM, FM AUTO, TAPE, PHONO and AUX. All knobs are present, intact and in very good condition. The LOUDNESS and POWER selections are working switches, also present and intact and in very good condition. The POWER switch reads \"ON\" and \"OFF / SLEEP.\"
Plastic cassette storage - located on the top of the unit, attached to the top, holds over ten tapes. Slot in the back reads, \"45 RPM RECORD ADAPTOR\" (45 RPM plastic adaptor is missing).
Plastic lid - has a flat \"Hitachi\" label on the top, smoky-glass appearance to the plastic. The lid was not designed to be attached to the unit, so there are no latches or hooks, only two plastic slots on the top/back of the unit to hold the edge of the plastic lid in place. Overall, the lid is in very good condition, with only minor scratches from wear/use but no cracks.
AM/FM radio - I do not have speakers to test the quality, but the radio appears to work (the channel selector plastic lights up). AM/FM stations are behind clear plastic; slight scratching to plastic front but no cracks. FM STEREO light is on the front.
Cassette recorder - front reads, \"FULL AUTO STOP CASSETTE RECORDER.\" Arrow indicates direction of tape. Buttons of RECORD, REWIND, PLAY, FAST FORWARD, STOP/EJECT and PAUSE are intact and present. I do not have any cassette tapes and do not know if this unit works or not, odds are that it will need repair/cleaning.
Turntable - the record player reads, \"Precision Crafted in Great Britain by BSR.\" Album speeds are 33, 45 and 78; the switch slides to each selection with a minimum of resistance. Album size switch is also in good condition. There is still a needle in the stylus, and the record arm moves properly. However, the ON/OFF/AUTO switch does not move, and the turntable does not rotate, so this will need repair/cleaning/part replacement.
Original sticker is still on the side, and reads, \"Caution: to prevent electric shock, do not open. No user serviceable parts inside. Pilot lamps soldered in place. Refer servicing to qualified service professional.\"
Note that there are several individuals online capable of servicing this unit (i.e. previous Pacific Stereo employees), if necessary.
No international shipping.
