Vintage James Kent Covered Dish
Chintz Hydrangea
Made in England, thiscovered dish was produced by James Kent (Ltd.)
in Longton, Staffordshire, England. This covered dish is a lovely example of authentic James Kent porcelain.
The under surface of the plate has a vintage James Kent backstamp, of the type that was in use between the 1930\'s and 1950 which means this that this piece is over 60 years old.
These pieces features a gorgeous multi-colored hydrangea pattern with blue, purple & pink blossoms against a soothing green & blue leafy backdrop. A rim of gold leaf adds a touch of elegance to the plate. The pattern has been referred to as HYDRANGEA-YELLOW (OLD,YELLOWBCKGRND)
Over size is 6” x 4 ½” x 3 ½” high.
Thecolors on the outside of the piecesare still vivid and their glaze is glossy. The gold trim on the plate is in overall good condition.
Though there are no chips or cracks, the inside of the cover and the bottom of the plate show darkening and crazing.
