Vintage Kay Archtop Guitar war era great shape, neck reset.
8TEN1944 SKU: 5232738152
For sale is a Kay archtop from the 1940\'s. I\'ve compared it to a \"Kraftsman\" archtop that was dated to the 1940s and construction and design are very similar. ( to my understanding kay, kraftsman and several other brands were all built in the same factories during that period) and it also has kluson wartime tuners which used pressed metal rivets to hold the tuning peg in place as opposed to machine screws (see picture) which would also date it to early to mid 1940\'s. Guitar had a neck reset in 2012 and plays great. pickguard is missing. Bridge has been fitted and leveled to body, original brass frets that have been dressed. the neck is very thick FYI. 17 inch lower bout. this guitar isn\'t perfect cosmetically but has a great sound with barky midrange and great low end. great player and awesome for recording. instrument does not have a case but will be packed extremely well.
