Thisis my personal horn that I bought as a boy in 1968 and used tillabout 1977.I’m the sole owner ever since, has not been used for thepast 40 years and safely stored INdoors all this time...
WhenI first bought it I had it sent off to be refurbished, andalwayskept it well-maintained and shined up back when I was playing. Peoplewould always stop me and admire it when they saw it. It has basicallybeenuntouchedsince about 1977, so you are looking at about40 years of patina.
I’vebeencommiserating for months about whether or not to shine it up forsale,but decided thatif I did that – I’d probably never want to sell it again… Andas I stopped playing decades ago and it’s a beautiful piece ofAmerican musical history, it should now go to someone who appreciateswhat it is and will hopefully play it out in the world…
Thishasthe beautiful ornatescrollwork withbrass-coloredinlay on the bell that makes it a very distinctive and distinguishedpiece.
Asfar as I can tell, all the double slides seem to work well. Thevalves are a little slow to return but all seems to be prettymuch okay.I have no valve oil so you can do that when it\'s yours. I playedthisin marching and concert bands and a little wedding band so it’sremarkable that the rim of the bell looks great and is notbeatup! :)
OriginalCase: RARE to find and in fair condition. With no handle as shown in the pics but the D-rings for it are still solid and you can find one of the buckle-on types that will work.
