Selling my beloved Miyata 912 touring. In completely original and excellent condition. Beside being an exceptionally good looking bicycle, this was really the best and state of the art touring bicycle that Japan had to offer in the day. The steel frame, in black with gold detailing, is silky smooth riding in very good condition with some paint rubs here and there (they look duller compared to the glossy paint). It is important to note that while the bicycle is in excellent condition, it is almost 40 years old and definitely not mint.
The lug work is beautiful, but what really stands out are details like the pantographed (!!) Shimano 600 EX (vintage Dura Ace) components, hubs, crank arms, shifters, etc. Please have a look at the photos to see the detail. It even has it\'s original Shimano UG black and gold chain. There are original period extras added on shortly after purchase such as Bluemels Club Special fenders (England), Jim Blackburn pannier racks, Christophe cage pedals, Huret odometer, Avocet padded saddle, etc. Missing tire pump.
Brand new tires, handlebar tape (rubberized), and tune up. Only taken for a 4 block test ride since.
The bicycle was purchased on October 1, 1979 from Northwest Blvd. Cyclery & Ski in Spokane Washington. I have all the original documentation, brochures, spec sheets, original store price tag, and a personalized owners manual stored in a manila envelope that will be included with the sale so there will be verifiable provenance. Also included are the manuals for the racks, odometer, and pedals.

This bike has just been professionally tuned & lubed (Recovery Bike Shop, NE Minneapolis). They also put on new texturized rubber bar tape and new Continental Super Sport Plus tires w/ Anti Puncture Belt (never even ridden). Fresh, tight, and rides exceptionally smooth. Needs nothing.
