You are looking at a somewhat rare(1960\'s era) Shure Brothers 548 (Unidyne IV series) dynamic cardioid microphone with excellent sound characteristics and set at Low Z. This 548 has a very smooth, warm tone that will sound excellent for both broadcasting and singing purposes. A high quality studio mic. This 548 has also been thoroughly cleaned and tested. The handheld 548 mic had distinctive looks and was a radical newdesign for Shure Brothers in the early 1960\'s with it\'s bold, simplistic and modern layout. It was very similar to the Shure 545S both in design and sound. The 548 was a very expensive dynamic mic for it\'s time and one of the best you could buy.

As you can see in the pictures provided there are very lite signs of wear on the satin chrome finish as well as the black plastic neck of the mic. There are zero dents, or fractures anywhere on this microphone. Mic is 100% complete and solid. No loose parts. A very fine example ofa Shure 548 microphone and worthy of any live event or display.

The microphone comes with a newer Shure mic clip that fits the mic perfectly and allows for a wide range of tilt up or down. The clip will screw on to any American desk or floor stand. The 548 comes with a nice cable as well. It\'s soft, pliable and free of any damage. No stains on the exterior either. 18 feet in length and it has the Switchcraft male 1/4 inch end connector that will work with most modern audio equipment and all guitar amplifiers.

You\'ll notice that the mic comes with a cool vintage vinyl brief case that\'s perfect for this mic. It\'s just the right size for the mic and cable. The vinyl is in excellent condition as is the aluminum trim and it has a locking mechanism to keep the case from coming open. The handle works perfectly and I added two new foam inserts to protect the mic from sliding around. The mic fits snug and safe inside. The brief case is appx 14 inches X 8 inches X 3 1/2 inches. Very lite weight as well.
