For sale is a lovely and excellent Whiting & Davis Co \"Alumesh\" purse from the 1940\'s! It still has the original tag inside and the inside of the purse is a pretty navy blue color without tares.There is ablemish in the lower section of the lining. It is a remnant of an old fingernail polish it appears. I have removed as much of the stain as I can but a remnant remains. The outside of the purse is a mesh metal that are cream colored and none are missing that I have seen. The frame, the large knobs that lock together on top of the frame and the chain handle are all made from bakelite. The purse with the chain handle in the up position measures 13\" in length. The bag itself is 6\" long and 11\" wide. It is a beauty from the past and would make a great gift for the collector.
