From a local estate, here is a rare vintage \"Makube\" ice cube maker, definitely an early item. These are aluminum trays, 9.25\" square, with attached cube inserts - the idea was that would would put these on top of the ice block in your ice chest and then chip out the cubes that would form. Some tattered cardboard packaging remains, these were made by Indexed Coupon Company in La Porte, Indiana. Also included is a partial order form for an ice chipper tool.This lot includes both trays and cardboard, the trays are solid but the cardboard is stained and tattered. Probably a short-lived idea that never caught on, these probably date to a period where electric freezers were becoming available.
