Here is an old , 19th Century, kerosene hanging lamp in excellent original condition ! Hanging at 33\". The winder appears to be in excellent condition. It is marked on the cast iron hanger B & H ( for BRADLEY & HUBBARD, a manufacturer of very high quality lamps. It is also dated but hard to decipher. The brass casting at bottom of frame ( 18\" wide) is spectacular and , I would say , stunning. All the parts on the frame , even the hanging chains , are brass. These parts retain a beautiful old patina. Even the font holder cup is exceptional. The old pattern glass font is in excellent condition. The 14\" shade is decorated beautifully and is in excellent condition. Even the prisms appear to be old ( I note 1 is a mismatch) OVERALL, THIS OLD KEROSENE HANGING LAMP, (often referred to as a library lamp) SHOWS OUTSTANDING VINTAGE CHARACTER, ASPECTACULAR DECORATIVE PRESENCE AND DISPLAYS IMPRESSIVELY !
