Terrific cutting saddle, handmade by Wendy Allen. This saddle was made about 10 years ago, when our son was young and we thought he might be interested in horses (he\'s 16 now and turns out he\'s not a horse guy). I broke in the saddle myself; I would estimate it was used about 50 times. It has always been kept inside our house. The seat is 15.5 inches. I\'m pretty sure you can contact Wendy Allen directly to get more information about this particular saddle. It\'s super cool and has a great custom design of longhorns throughout the saddle. The seat is padded; the rest of the saddle is rough-out. You can see it has normal wear and tear scuffs and marks that you would expect to see on a lightly used, extremely high quality saddle. Wendy Allen is recognized the world over for her unmatched saddle making skills and artistry and this is a one of a kind saddle. Additional info about this saddle:1. The outer/main skirt is 14\" long; the inner/shorter skirt is 10.5\"
2. The saddles weighs about 36 pounds
3. The condition of the wool on the underside is excellent (it is thick, fluffy, smells nice and looks great).
4. The width of the gullet is 6\"
5. There are dee rings for a breast collar.
Other notes: the cinch, riggings and stirrups are lightly used and in excellent condition. The metal riggings are made by Pointer; all hardware on the saddle is in outstanding condition. The only obvious sign of use is on the saddle seat itself, as the seat has sweat marks around the light colored leather. These sweat marks are clearly depicted in the listing photos (they are a normal occurrence in light-colored, padded seats). I am happy to take additional photos or make further measurements if you like! The saddle has been used as a decoration in our living room for about 10 years ... I just feel like it needs to be on a horse\'s back. :-) This saddle has had minimal actual use. It is gently broken in (the leather is quiet and supple and doesn\'t squeak). I can\'t remember exactly, but I believe I paid $3800 to have this saddle custom built many years ago.
