This is a good example of the P1907 Bayonet manufactured in September 1916duringWW I by theRifle Factory of Ishapore in India . The blade is marked with the Crown of King Edward VII above G.R.I. stamp, above 9 16, above R.F.I. on the ricasso with the broad arrow and bend inspection X markingand numerous inspection stampson the reverse. The blade is unsharpenedwith majority of the originalfinish remaining and a little staining. The Walnut wooden grips haveno damage and retain their original finish and some feint marking. The pommel is stamped what appears to be 1/G.R. indicates it to be 1st Gurkha Rifles. The release mechanism works good. The black leather scabbard isin good condition commensurate with its age of over 100 years with all goodstitching. The chape is stamped W.J.H. which signifies British manufacture. The staples are securely attached.
