WWI Steel Doughboy Helmet, 2nd Infantry, Hand painted Indian Head Insignia Up for sale is this World War One Steel Doughboy Helmet, also known as the M1917 model helmet. It was from the Second Infantry Division and has the hand painted indian head within a star on the front. Also there is the mark ofpossibly the manufacturer under the head band liner. A photo of this mark is in the pictures up above, not in thedescription pics. It has a dent by the top rivet ( no hole), some surface rust, and wear to the liner. The measurements are approximately 12 1/4\" long, 11\" wide and 5\" high. It would make a very nice addition Military / Vintage clothing collection. This and the other items I am putting up for sale/sale are from an ongoing Estate liquidation of the lifetime collection of primarily Military items. From the Crimean War to the present, these items will include Civil War, Indian War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, and the Vietnam War. I am not an expert on these items, most of the descriptions came from inventory of the Estate. Being this is an Estate Liquidation, all items are sold as is and there will be no returns.
