Very good condition and guaranteed original WWI US ArmyEngineers machete that is the Collins No. 1005 type but is unmarked. Massive 15”blade has mixed brown and gray finish and has been sharpened. Wood grips have nicelooking original finish and a good tight fit with some normal handling marks. Fittedin correct original leather sheath that has brass throat and tip. Leather issoft and supple with some normal wear and has strong original embossed designs.Stitching is nice and tight, missing one of the tip rivets. Complete with beltloop. A classic Great War Doughboy Engineers machete that will make a fineaddition to your collection.
